The Florida Fire Fastpitch Inc. was founded on August 24, 2005, by a dedicated group of volunteers in Brandon, Florida. Mark Braddy, Jim Braddy Sr., Mike Bell, Mark Shook, Eric Nichols, and Bonnie Gallops came together with a shared vision: to provide high-quality fastpitch softball for girls in our community.

Over the years, Florida Fire competed across the country while staying deeply rooted locally. From marching in the Brandon 4th of July Parade, hosting the MLB's Pitch, Hit & Run (2 National Champions), Haunted Houses and Movie Nights, Breast Cancer Awareness to countless other fundraisers, the organization brought families together. Our mission was simple — create a family-friendly environment where players could develop not only as athletes, but as strong, responsible young women and good citizens.

Florida Fire helped transform eastern Hillsborough County into a recognized powerhouse for softball talent across Florida and beyond. Many former players eventually returned as coaches, keeping the vision alive through the hard work of countless volunteers.

Florida Fire was succeeded by another softball organization. What remains are the memories and friendships that continue to this day — more than 20 years later.

We hope we served our players and families well.
